SERBU, IERONIM,

SERBU, IERONIM,
SERBU, IERONIM, originally Aron-Hertz Erich (1911–1972), Romanian author. Although Serbu published a collection of stories and sketches in 1940, he only attracted attention in 1955 with his novella Nunta în stepaˇ ("Wedding on the Steppe"), on life in a Transnistria concentration camp. This was notable for its characterization and documentary value. In other works, such as Podul amintirilor ("Bridge of Memories", 1963, 19672), he dealt with Romania's postwar social metamorphosis.
